about
This EP was released to celebrate 100 songs committed to vinyl by Boyracer. There was a bit of confusion at the time about this release I seem to remember. We originally gave the songs to Ulrich, who ran A Turntable Friend, to release. But he went through one of his "quiet" phases and disappeared and we didn't know if he was going to release it, (this was pre-internet days, so there was a time lag to everthing back then). So we gave the songs to Mike at Blackbean, plus a few extra songs we had knocked up on the 4 track in our bedroom, who put it out pretty much 2 weeks after we sent him a DAT. This was the 12inch version of "The Racer 100" EP. It came out June 1996, (edition of 600 copies, handmade sleeve that we had no input on), and is the version of the songs available here. Ulrich did eventually release a 7inch version also, I think at the end of 1996, which contained slightly different, (original), but not that different, mixes. Which was confusing, but was on nice gold vinyl with a proper sleeve, and an edition of 1000 copies. But I think the songs are great. We where pretty together as a band at this point and many of the songs became live faves for us to play. We still hope to get around to the "Racer 1000" EP sometime in the future...
